Recently my husband and I met a friend in Petaluma (CA) and together we had a bite at The Bovine Bakery. The store's window had this charming reconstruction and to the right, not visible in the photo, two oversize kitchen implements: a rolling pin and a whisk.
I find the sepia tone particularly suited to the image, turning it almost into a whimsical postcard from the past.
This is my contribution to edition #140 of Black and White Wednesday - A Culinary Photography Event created by Susan of The Well-Seasoned Cook, now organized by Cinzia of Cindystar, and hosted this week by Aparna of Stories from the Mahe Coast.
The photo was shot in color with my iPhone and then converted to sepia (Lightroom preset Sepia tone).
The gallery of images contributed to the event.

Confesso che mi sarei portata via diverse cose da quella cucina se avessi potuto, Sandra.

Dear Simona,
I have not seen a prettier picture that transports me to the good old days. Nice work as always. Your work is an inspiration.
Thank you for the entry.
Aparna.

Adorable scene. Does The Bovine Bakery specialize in diary desserts?

Looks like a very nice postcard. :-)

Thank you for your kind words, Aparna.
I don't know for sure, Susan, but I suspect the name has to do with the area being dairy country. There is another Bovine Bakery, in Point Reyes Station, an area also rich in dairy farms — and cheese making.
Thank you, Paz.

Love this vintage decoration of their vitrine :)

I love the vintage hues you gave this picture. It does transport one back to a simpler time when all one needed was a strong pair of hands, a wooden spoon, and a rolling pin. :)

Glad you like it, Ivy. It is nicely done.
Thank you, Debra. Glad you find the image evocative.
