A quick visit to Portland, last weekend, included a tour of the Saturday farmers' market at PSU, where I took the two photos above. I had read that it was nice and it surpassed my expectations: it was wonderful. We bought apples, bread, blueberries, cherry tomatoes, chocolates, hazelnuts, and wheat bran. We enjoyed a lovely morning surrounded by good food.
Before that, I visited Art in the Pearl, an amazing showcase of artists: browse the website to get a sense of the range of artists present.
This is my contribution to edition #49 of Black and White Wednesday - A Culinary Photography Event created by Susan of The Well-Seasoned Cook and hosted this week by the creator herself.
The photos were shot in color and then converted to sepia.
This post contains the gallery of photos submitted to the event.
On this page, you can find out who is hosting the current and future editions of the event.
I love the 'consciously uncertified' sign: a whole philosophy about food production, wrapped up in two words! Sorry for not having said hello for a while, I was let down by technology a bit. I've kept enjoying your ideas and recipes all the while though.

Ciao Caffettiera. I hope nothing serious happened. Sometimes farmers decide not to go through the process of organic certification, but they practice the same principles. I like their creative way of advertising that.
