Christine once gave me a can of that Katy's Smokehouse tuna, and it was indeed wonderful. I recently made a dish with tuna and pasta, but now you've given me some different ideas. Yours sounds wonderful, and I agree, don't cook the parsley!

Foodycat

Gorgeous tuna! The first dish I ever cooked for my husband was tuna pasta, but that was with lemon, garlic and capers. Tuna and tomato pasta is serious comfort food; I haven't made it in ages, but now I really want it!

ciao Simo baciussssssssss

Simona Carini

Ciao Kalyn. I am glad you also like Katy's tuna and I am glad the recipe gave you some ideas.

Ciao Alicia. I must admit I have never made pasta with tuna any other way. I must try the lemon, garlic and caper version. Tomatoes definitely push the dish into comfort food zone. Because of the association with Christmas Eve, for me it is also festive.

Ciao Marta.

Simply inviting, delicious spaghetti with tuna ..

Ruth

Thanks for sharing not only a lovely dish, but all that insight into canned tuna. I'm now on a hunt. And thanks for sending it to Presto Pasta Nights.

Caffettiera

I basically stopped eating tuna after growing up with it. I'm happy to hear there are relatively sustainable sources available. I'll have to look out for one available here, I'm craving spaghetti con il tonno so badly now!

Simona Carini

Thanks, Ivy.

You are welcome, Ruth. It is always a pleasure to participate.

Ciao Caffettiera. I also didn't eat it for many years. It was really the good quality of the brand I mention that made me revisit the dish from my childhood. I hope you can find a brand that gives accurate information on the tuna they use.

Frank

We practically live on pasta al tonno in our house, and I make just like you do! Great for those times when I do feel like cooking anything too elaborate or time-consuming. It's a real life-saver. I hadn't heard of Katy's but I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the tip!

Simona Carini

Ciao Frank. Life-saver is the right word. It's also one of those dishes where the result is greater than the sum of its parts.

The Food Hunter

I haven't made this in years...thanks for the reminder.

Simona Carini

You are welcome, Food Hunter.
